Angela Martin
Angela Martin has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. As a resident of Frederick County for almost 50 years and the mother of six, she has seen good and bad in local Catholic and public schools. After spending 7 years “unteaching” ideas her older children brought home from school, she became a home-schooling mother and spent 14 years instilling in her children a love for reading and an appreciation of classic literature. While raising her family, she worked at home as a freelance writer, preparing educational publications for a variety of medical associations and nonprofit groups. She also served as president of Frederick Co. Right to Life and in a variety of capacities for Maryland Right to Life, including president of the board of directors and executive director. In 2011, Angela founded Shepherd’s Staff In-home Care, an independent, licensed agency providing trained caregivers to serve elderly and disabled individuals in their own homes. She ran the company for 13 years before transitioning it to new ownership. A lifelong learner and an inveterate reader, Angela is excited to share in the mission of Annunciation High School to bring a classical education rooted in the Catholic faith to future generations. She is a life-professed lay Dominican, a member of St. Peter the Apostle parish in Libertytown, an OCIA instructor, and a teacher of apologetics and theology at a local homeschool co-op. She and her husband Deacon John Martin have six adult children, 24 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild (so far). They live in Walkersville.
