The name of this school was chosen in order to honor the moment that one simple yes helped to bring about the Incarnation. When the Angel Gabriel relayed God’s invitation to Mary, she did not hesitate. She gave her full and immediate yes to whatever God had in store. Her quiet answer over 2,000 years ago changed the world forever.

We may not all be called to do big things, but like St. Teresa of Calcutta, we can “do small things with great love”. Each small yes that we give helps to bring about the Lord’s plan. Here at Annunciation High School, students receive formation in understanding the value of both seeking and listening for the will of God for their lives so that they, too, can give their daily fiat.

Daily Mass

“The Eucharist is the sacrament of love: it signifies love, it produces love”

St. Thomas Aquinas

Each day begins with morning at 8:30 Mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Emmitsburg. Afterward, volunteers help to transport students to school before classes begin.

Practice of the Presence of God

“That we should establish ourselves in a sense of GOD’s Presence, by continually conversing with Him”

— Br. Lawrence of the Resurrection

Students participate in daily prayer and weekly Rosary and also receive instruction in the practice of the Examen, according to St. Ignatius of Loyola.

Weekly Adoration & Confession

"He is hidden there, waiting for us to come visit to visit Him and to make our requests.  He wishes to see us near Him, to tell us that He loves us, and wishes to load us with good things"

St. John Vianney

Weekly, students remain after Mass and have the opportunity to adore Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. The community is welcome to stay and pray as well!
